Common materials for GB 75kg/m heavy rail are U71Mn, U75V, etc. Taking U75V as an example, the higher carbon content can ensure the strength and hardness of the rails. The vanadium (V) content can refine the grains and improve the strength, toughness and wear resistance of the rails. Generally, the tensile strength is not less than 980MPa, and the yield strength is not less than 780MPa, which can withstand the huge pressure and impact generated by train operation. The impact toughness value is high, and it can maintain good toughness under special environments such as low temperature, and it is not easy to break brittlely, ensuring the safety of railway operation.
