Description

Rail clip is a component of railway fastening systems. It is used to fix the railroad track to the underlying baseplate and sleepers. The clamping force by rail clips helps to maintain the gauge and prevent the rail from moving in the vertical and horizontal direction relative to the sleeper. One extensively used type of rail clip is an elastic rail clip made of hot-pressed spring steel. Its energy produced at elastic deformation can alleviate the vibration and shock when trains move.

Technical Support

• The tension clamps shall be heat treated to achieve a surface hardness in the range 40-46HRC.
• The tension clamp mounted on Rail must achieve a clamping force of 2 x 10KN = 20 KN, per rail set at a spring deflection of 13mm.
• Fatigue test:5 million cycles,no fracture.
• The W-shape of the Skl 14 provides safety. For meeting the required rail creep resistance two highly elastic, independently acting spring arms steadily hold the rail down; the middle bend acts as an additional tilting protection. With its high fatigue strength, it resists the dynamic vertical movements that are caused when the vehicle rolls over the rail. The system is maintenance-free: Due to the permanently acting tension, Skl and screw cannot loosen, the middle bend prevents the spring arms from plastic deformation.
